GEM elettronica is a private Company founded in 1977, that has been working in the field of the study and production of military, paramilitary and civilian equipment and systems for naval, air and terrestrial applications.

Since its foundation, the Company has been acquiring the talent and the requisite resources to build equipment for satisfying the evolutionary tendencies of navigation. In doing so, GEM focused its activities on developing practical and effective methods to solve the problems of acquisition, identification and processing of information in real time. This trend to keep abreast of technology is going on and considerable efforts have being devoted to this aim.

GEM radar systems are in use around the world for several purposes, such as to prevent collisions at sea and on river waterway systems to manage water-borne traffic in and around ports and to effect surveillance of long stretches of remote coastlines and airspace. These systems depend upon the most advanced data processing techniques for rapid transfer of digital and analog information between sensors and operational control and monitoring stations.

Our achievements include navigational plotting systems that yield effective visual management of navigational data. Furnished with advanced software, these systems provide solutions to the most complex cinematic problems.

By replicating the characteristics of a vessel at sea, we build simulator systems that, greatly enhance the manoeuvring skills of ships officers.
