Road directions
Leaving from the airport, drive towards Roma centro.
Drive for about 15 Km along the Fiumicino - Roma motorway until you reach the G.R.A. (Grande Raccordo Anulare, a speedway going all around Roma) and enter it in counterclockwise direction. There should be a sign A24 Roma LAquila, but Im not sure.
Keep in mind that in Italy the signs relating to the motorways are green.
Follow the G.R.A. for about 30 Km until you reach the A24 motorway heading for LAquila and take it.
Once in the A24, after some 8 Km youll have to take the ticket for the toll payment (in Italy motorways are not free).
Follow the motorway for its whole length (155 Km).
After 72 Km theres a junction with the A25, you follow the A24 (left way, LAquila Teramo).
About 15 Km beyond LAquila youll find a 10 Km long tunnel under the Gran Sasso, the highest mountain in the center-south of Italy (2914 m), then the motorway will start its descent to the sea (the tunnel lies at a height of about 1100 m).
After the toll payment the motorway becomes single-carriageway, then again double-carriageway, then again single, then it ends and you will find traffic-lights.
Turn right, then left soon and follow the road 80 towards the sea (A14 motorway signs).
After about 12 Km youll find the A14 motorway; take it in the North direction (Ancona) and follow it for about 23 Km until the second exit, S. Benedetto del Tronto Ascoli Piceno.
After the toll payment take the Ascoli-mare freeway (turn left at the junction, direction S. Benedetto del Tronto).
After just 1 Km the freeway ends and you have to take the speedway to the center; in order to do so ignore the first junction on the right (direction Pescara), underpass the speedway itself and follow a loop of the road always keeping right (direction S. Benedetto centro).
Take the third exit (via Scarlatti) and keep driving northbound with the railway on your left until youll be forced to turn right; reach the seafront road and keep going North until the road turns right towards the sea.
Follow the road until it goes northbound again, then go straight until youll see on the right a building of the Navy and then an area where usually are some fishing ships taken out of the sea for maintenance: turn right and follow the fishing harbour (banchina Malfizia).
At the end of the harbour turn left and then take the first right; cross another street and at last youll find via Amerigo Vespucci.
Just in front of a restaurant (Stella polare, right side) is GEM Elettronica (left side).
There are no signs, ring at a big green metal door.
