GEM elettronica offers a complete range of high-gain antennas in both X, S and Ka band designed for naval vessels, coastal/harbour surveillance and Airport Surface Movement and Guidance Control (SMGC) systems.

GEM elettronica has developed different versions of these antennas to satisfy diverse applications. In particular, GEM elettronica’s down-mast antennas provide high-reliability operations in all-weather conditions and are delivered with a complete pedestal inclusive of electro-mechanical drive unit, rotary joints and tilt. Thanks to their superior mechanical design, GEM elettronica’s antennas eliminate the “backlash” problem and deliver an extremely precise bearing data.

GEM elettronica offers switchable triple-polarization antennas ideal for coastal, port surveillance and offshore applications. Low-profiled and fully remotely driven to select and switch among horizontal, vertical or circular polarization. Selection of adequate polarization is done to match radar performance during severe sea and weather conditions to enhance detection of small targets in heavy clutter.

Compliant with IALA V-128, 2007, tab.5.5 requirements. Specially designed for sea surface surveillance with adapted distribution of the electromagnetic radiation in the inverse square-cosecant vertical beam. These antennas allow the most uniform signal strength to perform constant radar detection of surface targets. The favorable cross profile and ruggedized design allow operations even against strong wind gusts and in the harshest environment.

These antennas were developed to meet and exceed surveillance requirements for detection of small targets in VTS, Coastal/Airport surveillance systems. They offer a superb performance and are easily integrated into a wide range of radar transceivers.

These antennas feature a GEM elettronica proprietary design and technology to achieve non-dispersive characteristics. They are particularly effective in conjunction with wideband, solid-state and extremely agile radar transceivers thanks to their undistorted radar pulses. They are also used in standard radar applications where they compensate the squint phenomenon (due to pulse-to-pulse magnetron drift) and keep the pulse shape and direction unchanged.

Specifically designed for Surface Movement Guidance Control Systems (SMGCS), these antennas feature high target discrimination, fast rotation rate and superior reliability. They are available in both circular polarization modes. These antennas solve the problem of rejection of unwanted returns by using bi-static configuration.

ASU-50000 ASU-50000
Antenna supply unit

The ASU-50000 unit provides voltage and current output for motor unit of antenna series ASX- 21xx. It converts input mains supply AC single phase to three-phase for motor supply, adjusting frequency to control rotation speed. The internal inverter is based on a vector control system, giving outstanding speed and torque performance and fast response.

The ASU-30000 unit provides voltage and current output for motor unit of antenna series ASX-19xx. It converts input mains supply AC single phase to three-phase for motor supply, adjusting frequency to control rotation speed.
