A R S – Antennas & Radar Systems laboratory

Antennas & Radar Systems (A R S) laboratory was established in 1983 with the primary responsibility of the design and development of X and S band marine radar.

GEM elettronica Antenna Radar System Lab

GEM elettronica ARS Laboratory

Today GEM elettronica ARS laboratory researchers conduct applied research focused on active and passive radar antenna technology, radar system performance modeling and simulation.

They design also solid state radar, novels microwave components like special rotary joint, power amplifier and receiver and innovative antenna radiating architectures. Additionally ARS laboratory provides state-of-the-art radar design, comprehensive of high speed analog to digital converters along with high-end FPGAs and fast digital signal processor, allowing for maximum flexibility in algorithm design.

Current investigation include compressive sensing, beam forming technique, Doppler optimization and pulse agility, estimation and detection theory, target phenomenology in bad environmental conditions, signal processing and multi-mode operation.
