Principles underlying our work

This code defines the ethical commitments and responsibilities in the conduct of business and corporate activities undertaken by all GEM elettronica s.r.l. collaborators, regardless of their qualification. GEM elettronica is committed to maintaining and strengthening the relationship of trust with the people, groups, and organizations that are involved in the realization of its mission. In particular, the stakeholders of GEM elettronica are the collaborators, customers, suppliers, and business partners. In a broader sense, they are also all those people, groups, and organizations that are affected by the activities of GEM elettronica, both directly and indirectly.

Unethical behavior

In business conduct, unethical behavior undermines the trust relationship between GEM elettronica and its stakeholders. In fact, such behavior encourages hostile attitudes towards the company, as it is in conflict with the principles of fairness and transparency that should be the basis of any business relationship.

Reputation and fiduciary duties: an essential intangible resource

A good reputation is an essential intangible asset that, externally, fosters customer loyalty, attracts the best human resources, reassures suppliers, and is reliable to creditors. Internally, it contributes to making decisions and implementing them without friction, and to organizing work without bureaucratic controls and excessive exercises of authority.

The GEM elettronica code of ethics clarifies the company’s specific duties to stakeholders (fiduciary duties). The actual observance of the code of ethics is a benchmark for judging the reputation of GEM elettronica.

The value of reciprocity

GEM elettronica believes that reciprocity materializes in concrete actions, such as respect for workers’ rights, protection of the environment and the promotion of a more sustainable society. For GEM elettronica, reciprocity is a fundamental value that guides its relationship with all stakeholders.

Validity and application of the Ethical Code

The Ethical Code of GEM elettronica s.r.l. is binding for all employees and suppliers of the company. The code is valid both in Italy and abroad, considering the cultural, social, and economic diversity of the various countries in which GEM elettronica operates.

Organization and management model (ex D.Lgs. 231/01)

The Legislative Decree of 8 June 2001, No. 231, introduced into the Italian legal system a regime of administrative liability (but in fact criminal) for companies, for certain types of crimes committed by their respective administrators, managers or employees in the interest or to the advantage of the companies themselves. GEM elettronica equipped itself with a Model of Organization and Management that meets the requirements of Legislative Decree 231/01 (Model 231) in 2021, which it has constantly updated in line with the applicable regulatory framework and the current organizational context.

Stakeholder reports (Whistleblowing)

Internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, community representatives, etc., can report (a practice also known as whistleblowing) any violation of the organizational and management model under Legislative Decree 231/2001, the Ethical Code, the Human Rights Policy, and any other illegality – as provided for by national whistleblowing regulations – including behaviors and practices that may cause economic damage or prejudice to GEM elettronica, relating to personnel and stakeholders.

The activities of managing reports are carried out in accordance with the operating procedure available on this page, which also contains the information document on the processing of data related to reports in accordance with the European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
