Active Laser Imaging:
GEM elettronica has completed the development and test of the new Active Laser Imaging (ALI) system that was conceived as prime detection and surveillance tool for a wide range of homeland security and military application. ALI is an active system utilizing eye-safe infrared laser beam (1,550 nm wavelength) to illuminate a target and a Focal Plane Array (FPA) to collect the backscattered radiation. ALI has been developed to provide Special Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, Coast Guard and Navy with a dedicated tool to perform positive detection and identification of targets under special environmental and contingent situations. In particular, whenever a special operation involving rapid, accurate and covert actions is required, ALI will provide the essential situational awareness information without giving out unwanted warnings.
